YOGA SERVICE
National Leadership
Regional Leadership
Yoga service is one of my greatest passions and commitments and I am deeply honored to serve as Chair of the Board for the national Yoga Service Council (YSC) .
YSC defines Yoga Service as “the intentional sharing of yoga practices within a context of conscious relationship, supported by regular reflection and self-inquiry.” The Mission of YSC is to maximize the effectiveness, sustainability, and impact of individuals and organizations working to make yoga and mindfulness practices equally accessible to all. The Vision of YSC is a world where everyone has equal access to yoga and mindfulness practices that support healing, resilience, self-development, community building and positive social change.

Along with a team of justice-minded yoga teachers, I founded the Rochester Yoga Service Network (RYSN) in 2014. In a spirit of cooperation and community engagement, RYSN provides a supportive network for local yoga service providers, including training, reflection, and resourcing. RYSN aims to:
-
Maintain and share a database of Rochester yoga service providers identified by specialty, expertise, and/or affiliation
-
Facilitate the pairing of yoga teachers and volunteers with individuals and groups in need of yoga service
-
Provide a forum for RYSN members to share best program practices in addition to facilitating and hosting yoga training and professional development for Network members.

I've witnessed Lynne teaching an extremely wide range of students, from teenagers confronting the challenges of poverty and racism, introduced to yoga for the first time, to yogis at the most advanced level of practice. Lynne is able to adapt to any student from any walk of life, providing the experience needed in the moment. One of her many gifts is her intuitive ability to provide the most transformative, empowering experience to anyone she encounters.
